How It Works

01

Select your platforms

Toggle which platforms to check. You can monitor one platform or all six at the same time.

02

Write or paste your content

Type your caption, post, or script into the text field. Character counts update in real time as you type.

03

Review limits per platform

Each platform shows a progress bar, characters remaining, and where the visible-text cutoff occurs before "see more".

Use Cases

Popular Use Cases

Cross-Platform Posting

Verify a single piece of content fits every platform before scheduling it across your channels.

Twitter / X Threads

Stay within the 280-character limit for single posts and measure each thread segment individually.

LinkedIn Long-Form Posts

Check that your post exceeds 210 characters so LinkedIn shows the "see more" hook and drives dwell time.

Content Repurposing

Adapt a long-form LinkedIn post to a tight Twitter thread by monitoring character limits side by side.

Tips

Pro Tips

01

Twitter: front-load the hook

On X/Twitter, the first 140 characters appear in the feed preview before 'Show more'. Make the opening count — lead with the most compelling line.

02

Instagram: use the 125-char rule

Only the first 125 characters are visible before the 'more' tap. Your hook should stand alone in those 125 characters to stop the scroll.

03

LinkedIn: aim for 210+ characters

Posts under 210 characters do not trigger LinkedIn's 'see more' link, which may reduce engagement. Longer posts signal more substantive content.

04

Hashtags count toward limits

Every character in a hashtag (including the #) counts toward the platform limit. On Twitter, hashtags in the visible area consume the character budget; put them at the end when possible.

05

Twitter URL shortening

Twitter automatically wraps all URLs in a t.co short link, which always counts as 23 characters regardless of the original URL length. Factor this into your character budget.

06

Write once, adapt per platform

Write the core message at the most restrictive limit (280 for Twitter) then expand naturally for platforms with higher limits. Expanding is easier than cutting.
